Reality Race and Religion is a concert that will feature the works of Jasmine Barnes, a young rising Female African American Composer who is a masters student at Morgan State University.

Event Details

This concert features works for Chamber orchestra, Brass quintet, Flute and String Ensemble, and Solo works for voice, cello, piano, and flute. This concert is sure to be an evening of heightened senses, emotional travelling, and bliss. Symphony No. 1 under the direction of Jordan Smith, conductor, will be the featured instrumentalists for the concert. This concert also features many artists such as Aaron Thacker, pianist, Marquita Lister, internationally renowned soprano, Leah Hawkins, Internationally acclaimed Soprano and Domingo Cafritz Young Artist, and many more! The featured Choir are members past and present of the Morgan State University Choir. The choir will be conducted by James Mayo, Jonathan Pettus, and Angelo Johnson. Make sure you do not miss the opportunity to support an aspiring and upcoming composer. May 9th, 2018, save the date! The concert will take place in Gilliam concert hall at the Carl J Murphy Fine Arts Center on the campus of Morgan State University.
