Join us on the Anacostia River in DC for the Kingman Island Bluegrass & Folk Festival with an incredible cast of local bluegrass, folk, and Americana artists for eight hours of music spread across multiple stages on beautiful Kingman Island.
Event Details
In addition to the incredible local tunes, the Festival will feature fun for all ages, including various outdoor activities, a kids’ zone, delicious food, beer, cocktails, and more. The Kingman Island Bluegrass & Folk Festival has become the largest benefit music festival in the District, attracting over 10,000 guests annually since 2014. Bring the kids, bring the dog, but leave the disposable containers at home and consider biking or taking public transit to support the Festival and the DOEE in our “Zero Waste” mission to reduce our carbon footprint on the District.
The Kingman Island Bluegrass and Folk Festival is all about celebration. A celebration of spring in DC, the amazing talent held by our friends and neighbors, and the natural beauty in our Nation's capital that we can too easily forget in the hustle and bustle of everyday life. As a critical fundraising event for Living Classrooms Foundation, who provides hands-on education for disadvantaged youth across the DC region, it is also an annual celebration of the fundamentally important role that community plays in lifting up those among us who are in greatest need.
Tickets and information at www.kingmanislandbluegrass.info or follow the Festival on Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram at @KIBluegrassFest. #KIBF18.
With the support of the Department of Public Works (DPW) and the Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE), the 2016 Kingman Island Bluegrass and Folk Festival became the first Zero Waste music festival in the District! We are very proud of this distinction, and in order to maintain status as a Zero Waste festival in 2018, we are asking guests to only bring reusable water bottles and food containers onto the island. Each attendee will be provided with a reusable Zero Waste cup to use at vendors and water stations!
