Saturday October 13-14th get ready to slurp, sip, and support a great cause as Ryleigh’s Oyster celebrates the Maryland opening of prime Chesapeake Bay Oystering season for the twelth year in a row with their annual fall food festival, Oysterfest.
Oysterfest features dozens of carefully curated Tasting Tents, Raw Bars, and Sponsorship displays, all chosen for their unique commitment to the appreciation and preservation of the bold Chesapeake oyster. Menu highlights include #TrueBlue Maryland Crab Cakes, Live Fire Roasted Whole Fish, Fried Oysters, Grilled Oysters, MD Style Pit Beef and of course, over 10 types of raw oysters on the half shell (many of which are just a buck-a-shuck!)
Highlighting Ryleigh’s seafood-studded street festival is the 8th Annual Baltimore Oyster Shucking Championship, presented by local beer sponsor Heavy Seas, on Saturday at 3pm. Here festival-goers will witness the regions most skilled oyster-openers compete on the Cross Street Stage for the local title and over $1,000 in cash prizes.
Whether spending just a few hours in the Tasting Tents (featuring dozens of oysters, local varaties just a buck-per-shuck) or the entire weekend taking in Oysterfests’ bold Baltimore flavors and live music schedule, oyster-enthusiasts will find their perfect bivalve and beverage experience on E Cross Street this October.
General Admission is free and open to the public...but for the distinguished oyster lover, we recommend you reserve one of the VIP Shuck-Buck Ticket Bundles below!
