Event Details
We are excited to announce a new partnership with Patterson Park Public Charter School and Mobtown Brewing Co. in hosting a brand new homebrew contest called Books & Brew! Books & Brew is a family-friendly homebrew contest and block party with a book theme. There will be live music and food!
Come out to try and judge beers among the following categories:
- "Ale" of Two Cities (IPA, Pale Ales)
- Heart of “Dark”ness (Stouts, Porters, brown ales)
- A Clock-worth "Other" (Fruits, spiced, ciders, oddities)
Homebrew Tickets:
General Admission $20: This includes unlimited homebrew 2.5 ounce pours from 1pm to 4pm while supplies last
VIP $35: This gets you early access from Noon to 1pm with 4 ounce pours during early access, plus everything a General Admissions ticket gets you while supplies last
***All ticket prices increase $5 at the door***
Books & Brew is part of Patterson Park Public Charter School's multi-event Read-a-thon. The purpose of the Read-a-thon is to encourage students to develop good reading habits, inspire a community of supporters, and helping raise money for Patterson Park Public Charter School. All proceeds from the event will support Patterson Park Public Charter School, a Title I, city-wide, public school in Southeast Baltimore serving 733 students.
Interested in brewing? Brewer sign-ups are free. You may enter as many beers as you would like with 5 gallons recommended per beer. Be creative with the name to fit with our theme, beers named or related to books are encouraged. For example, Tell Tale Ale from our Baltimore based Raven brewery.
