Description
Join us for a Family Day drawing inspiration from the exhibition “Nari Ward: We the People” on view at the New Museum from February 13 to May 26, 2019.
Event Details
Characterized by the use of found materials, Ward’s sculptures are rooted in the stories of everyday items and the possibilities of creating new narratives through their transformation. Drawing specifically from Harlem, where the artist has lived and worked for over twenty-five years, Ward points to the cultural landscape and textures of the neighborhood. Families will be encouraged to draw inspiration from these works and make sculptures of their own with humble and found materials.
