The Bead Experience

The Bead Experience began in 1967 when two sisters started making jewelry and opened a small store with their mother on Read Street to sell their wares. The business grew and they expanded their inventory to include bell bottom jeans and other unisex clothing and soon became a mainstay of the hippy scene in Baltimore. They moved to a store on Park Avenue and then to The Rotunda where for 30 years they outfitted the women of Baltimore with the funkiest clothing and accessories around. In 2005 a third generation joined The Bead. The store moved to The Shops at Kenilworth in Towson and added a contemporary clothing department to cater to a trendier customer in addition to the classic loose fitting and timeless looks sold there. The Bead continues specializes in exceptional customer service, moderate prices and fabulous clothing and accessories for women of all ages.
