With a love of barbeque and people, Doug Ward started It’s the Pits in 2004. He started in a Food Trailer on Rt. 8 of Stevensville. After a couple of years the business expanded and he needed a bigger space. January 2007 Doug opened the storefront location also in Stevensville which expanded It’s the Pits not only into a wonderful carry-out restaurant but also opened the doors to becoming a strong catering business.
Our meats are custom smoked “low n slow” with the perfect combination of fruit wood and dry spices, always served with It’s the Pits’ custom sauces on the side.
Our salads, sauces, rubs and recipes are all homemade in house. Some of our recipes go back three generations. We cook our food with the love and dedication that our grandmothers and mothers taught us.
Our carry-out menu is extensive. We serve down-home barbeque with fresh made salads and sides, we have fresh cut French fries that compliment any lunch or dinner just right, if you are not in the mood for barbeque we also have a great selection of seafood platters. We sell fresh seafood to cook at home! If you are entertaining and just need a couple pounds of brisket, pork, etc stop on in and we will have it ready with your favorite barbeque on the side.
