2014 Marks 25 Years of Kennedy Krieger Institute's Holiday Extravaganza!
Event Details
Now in its 25th year, Kennedy Krieger Institute’s Festival of Trees has become a holiday extravaganza so extraordinary that even Santa and his elves couldn’t have designed a better fantasy world! The largest event of its kind on the East Coast will return to the Maryland State Fairgrounds from Friday, November 28 to Sunday, November 30, with fairyland forests, gingerbread towns, over 100 gift boutiques, holiday goodies and activities for all ages.
While walking in Festival of Trees’ winter wonderland – complete with more than 700 trees, wreaths and gingerbread houses decorated by local designers, corporations and schools – festival goers will enjoy hourly entertainment and a visit to SantaLand, Santa’s ultimate theme park featuring “reindeer” pony rides, carousel rides, carnival games, train rides, a remote control car racetrack and more. And with a variety of vendor booths and a silent auction, Festival of Trees provides a great opportunity to get started on holiday shopping.
Attendees and Institute supporters can also start their own online Happy Holidays FUNdraising page to raise money for Kennedy Krieger. For every $10 raised to support the children and families of the Institute, supporters will receive one free ticket to Festival of Trees.
The raffle at this year’s Festival of Trees features $2,500 in cash prizes. Raffle tickets can be purchased for $2 at the event or online at www.festivaloftrees.kennedykrieger.org.
Proceeds from Festival of Trees, presented by BB&T, directly benefit Kennedy Krieger, appropriately marking the beginning of the holiday season by giving the gift of hope to the thousands of children treated at the Institute.
