Join NAMI Metro Baltimore volunteers, Yi Chen and Tevis Simon, as they share personal perspectives of what it’s like to live with a mental health condition.
Start on : March 14, 2018 6:30 PM Wednesday
End on : March 15, 2018 8:00 PM Thursday
Through storytelling, the NAMI In Our Own Voice presentation changes attitudes, assumptions, and stereotypes about people with mental health conditions. These presentations provide hope for a brighter future and allow audience members to ask questions to deepen their understanding of mental illness.
Yi Chen has been volunteering with NAMI for one year as a trained In Our Own Voice presenter and peer support group facilitator, alongside her psychiatric service dog, Bumbi. Tevis Simon has volunteered with NAMI for two years. She is a NAMI In Our Own Voice presenter and connects community members to NAMI’s resources at outreach events throughout Baltimore.
