Halloween is not cancelled! That’s right, everyone! Prep your costumes, find a matching face mask, and get ready to see some festive decorations and of course, candy!
Event Details
We’re reinventing “trunk or treat” as we know it from last year to create a new, safe, exciting and free opportunity for the South Baltimore community. This year’s event will feature two separate lanes: a drive-through only and a walk/bike lane in which kids and their families will be asked to dress up, mask up, and participate in a socially-distant scavenger hunt as they travel past decorated cars.
After reading CDC guidelines and consulting with city leaders and the Baltimore City Health Department, here are the ways we are committed to keeping volunteers and the community safe during this event:
Everyone will be asked to wear face masks (even if a costume has a mask, the mouth and nose should be covered)
Everyone will be asked to remain six feet apart from individuals outside their family unit
Decorated trunks/cars will be directed to park with one space in between (equals eight feet of distance)
Participants for the walk/bike-through lane will be admitted to the BMI parking lot in limited numbers and their walking path will be taped on the ground to clarify six feet of distance from volunteers
Hand sanitizer will be readily available throughout the event space
No individual candy will be given out by decorated trunks/cars this year; GraceCity will be purchasing all candy and providing a treat bag to each child at the caravan exit
Note: This is a free event for kids 10 and under. All children must be accompanied by an adult.
