If you're in Baltimore and even remotely interested in anything arts-related, October is definitely your month to get out and explore all the art and cultural going-ons that make Baltimore truly unique.

Billed as Free Fall Baltimore, this month long event, now in its sixth year, offers Baltimore residents and visitors alike a bounty of opportunities to check out events at theaters, museums, and more across the city at no cost.

The Baltimore Museum of Art will be offering free admission to anyone and everyone during regular hours throughout the month of October.  Families will enjoy the museum's drop-in art activities every Sunday during the month including classes on how to paint masterful portraits,  sketch still-lifes, and sculpt animals.

The Walters Art Museum will also offer a variety of free classes and workshops for families including a medieval and renaissance art tours, guest speakers and more.

If music is more of your thing, there's a great variety of music-related activity happening throughout Free Fall Baltimore.  On Sunday, October 2 there will be a free concert from the Baltimore Jazz Alliance at the Christ Lutheran Church (701 S. Charles St.) beginning at 2 p.m.

The Baltimore Symphony Orchestra will offer a unique opportunity for the public to observe one of their rehearsals on October 20 beginning at 9:30 a.m.  They'll play selections from legendary composers Bach and Debussy.

The Baltimore Ballet will offer a free lecture and demonstration at the Baltimore Museum of Art on October 8 beginning at 6 p.m.  Watch an introduction to ballet basics and performance of several famous ballet pieces.
