Event Details
As a classical performer, John Thomas has premiered new solo and chamber works both in the US and abroad. He actively performs the standard repertoire of the saxophone, as well as new works by young composers and his own electro-acoustic compositions. Mr. Thomas has performed and lectured at North American Saxophone Alliance national and regional conferences, the U.S. Navy Band Saxophone Symposium and the World Saxophone Congress at Mahidol University in Thailand. He currently teaches jazz and woodwinds at Washington College and Towson University while maintaining a select private studio.
Dover, Delaware, native Todd Simon is a 2007 Peabody graduate who has since become a mainstay on the Baltimore/Washington D.C. jazz scene as a pianist, organist, and saxophonist. He was a pianist for the U.S. Naval Academy Band and a multi-instrumentalist in several ensembles. In 2019, Todd moved to New York City and began immediately performing at several venues in Harlem, Manhattan, and Brooklyn. He also plays for “All Souls Unitarian Church” in D.C. and for “Voices of Vets”, whose goal is to bring music to every veteran home in the country.
Together they will provide a wonderful afternoon of musical entertainment. The concert will be held in our large air-conditioned sanctuary. We will be asking all attendees to wear masks for the concert.
