The average trick or treater consumes over 27 times the amount of sugar recommended for one day, on Halloween alone.There are clear links between excessive sugar intake and preventable diet related diseases.

The Harvest Snack Lab is an intentional space of exploration and celebration of the foods of the harvest season through food art, delicious healthy snacks, and a dance party where kids can show off their best costumes!

EVENT WILL FEATURE:
*Edible + non edible Food Art Workshops
*Games
*Music
*Costumes
*Celebration of the harvest season and its delicious offerings!

For this independently funded event we are accepting donations of the following items:

- Pumpkins (different sizes)
- Apples
- Bananas
- Celery
- Sweet potatoes
- Collard greens
- Dried Fruits
- Water
- seasonal produce bags (gourds, squash, zucchini, and produce in season)
- Any healthy snack donations
- hot apple cider
- crayons, colored pencils, markers, construction paper, toothpicks, popsicle sticks, paintbrushes, paint (washable)
- Seasonal decorations
- Donated kids costumes
- small serving cups/plates for samples
- Other harvest inspired items

(note: we are not accepting donations of candy)

The way a child eats during the first 5 years of life lays the foundation for habits and therefore health outcomes going into their future!

Bring out the kids and enjoy a healthy harvest inspired party!

Entry to the event is pay what you can (donations strongly encouraged but no one will be turned away due to lack of funds)
