The Charm City Circulator is a system of 21 FREE shuttles that circulate Baltimore City. As a part of former Baltimore Mayor Sheila Dixon’s vision of a “cleaner, greener Baltimore," the fleet is made up of 21 DesignLine 2009 EcoSaver IV LF Hybrid Electric vehicles, the first of its type in a major metropolitan area. All residents and tourists are recommended to use this service as it is not only free, but it runs every 15 minutes, 7 days a week and covers 3 routes. The Charm City Circulator bus system is perfect as a connector for a commute to the city by train, bus or commuter lot. It also makes for a great way to get around the city and see highlights of what the great city of Baltimore has to offer.
There are currently three routes for the Charm City Circulator in Downtown Baltimore. The Purple Route which runs North and South stretches from Penn Station, through Mount Vernon, the City Center, Inner Harbor and then loops through Federal Hill. Penn Station is a great place to pick up the shuttle service from a Marc Train or Amtrak. The Orange Route, which travels East and West, extends from West of the University of Maryland Medical Center to Little Italy and Harbor East. This route travels through Downtown on Pratt Street and Lombard Street and is the closest shuttle to Oriole Park at Camden Yards and the Convention Center in Baltimore. The Green Route provides service through Johns Hopkins, Fells Point on to City Hall in Downtown Baltimore.
The Water Taxi Harbor Connector is another great way to get connected to the Charm City Circulator to finish your commute to or from Baltimore. Two free Water Taxi Harbor Connectors run between Maritime Park (Fells Point) and Tide Point and Canton Waterfront Park (Canton) and Tide Point. When you arrive in Fells Point, hop on the CCC and continue your trip to wherever you may be going. Look out for a new landing point at Harborview located in the heart of Baltimore's Inner Harbor.
So hop on and off the Charm City Circulator for a ride around Baltimore or enjoy and commute to both work and play. The free shuttle service is not only great for you, but it is a great way to a cleaner and greener Baltimore City.
