Visitors will find a wide variety of things to do in Baltimore, including shopping, nightlife, restaurants and recreational activities.

Travel to Federal Hill or Fells Point, neighborhoods rich in nightlife, to find some of the best events in Baltimore.

Federal Hill is home to the Cross Street Market, an excellent destination for shopping, as well as the American Visionary Art Museum and the Maryland Science Center.

Fells Point is also near Downtown Baltimore and contains some of the city's best restaurants, scenic waterfront area, historic architecture and recreational opportunities.

The annual Fells Point Fun Festival is one of the most popular events in Baltimore for local residents as well as tourists who travel to the city to enjoy all it has to offer. Started in the 1960s, the Fun Festival was originally launched as a way to raise funds and enhance the profile of the neighborhood, one of the most historic destinations in the area near downtown Baltimore. A new highway proposal at the time could have resulted in the demolition of large portions of the area, but the Fun Festival and other efforts helped save the neighborhood, which contains many houses from the 18th and 19th centuries.

Fells Point also contains many boutique shops and art galleries, including the Diliberto Gallery and the Robert McClintock Gallery, both home to world-renowned artists. Most of the galleries are located along the ArtLoop, which features art showings on a regular basis along with special art openings and food and drink.

One of the most popular things to do in Baltimore for visitors who are interested in the city's history is to explore the many famous old churches in Federal Hill, including historic Christ Lutheran Church, Lee Street Baptist Church and St. Mary's Star of the Sea Roman Catholic Church. Many of these structures are in the neighborhood's official historic district, which is included in the National Register of Historic Places.

Federal Hill is also the home of an important annual fashion show that draws designers and fans of fashion. The event includes music and refreshments. Many neighborhood boutiques participate in the show.
